Exploring the links between users and architecture in hospitals has led us to develop a new concept: clinical architecture.

Clinical architecture provides care by enabling medicine to understand the patient as a whole. It responds to needs by creating spaces that support the physical and mental lives of patients. It disseminates a model of care that is intimately linked to space, both within the hospital and across the city.

This concept of clinical architecture is currently being proposed, developed and experimented with in Coline Periano's research at Atelier Michel Rémon & Associés.

Study conducted in Neurology, Diabetology and Haematology Departments.

• Biographical linking patients within the hospital history and geography
• Rehabilitation and self-treatment through the outdoor/collective spaces itinerary
• Accommodation in septic protective isolation rooms

• Proximity care, exchanges within the complex
• Hospital visibility in the city and city views from the hospital
